Prayas Trust conducted a blood group identification camp for the students of SBM Primary school in Thiruverkadu on 28th November 2017. Over 166 students benefitted from this camp.
Members, office bearers and trustees of Prayas actively participated in the camp with each group handling specific responsibilities. This included filling in the details of the students and segregating them towards the technicians. The lab technicians collected the samples and tested the blood group of each student. The teams were helped by few volunteer students who helped in cleaning the testing equipment. The students were sensitised on the importance of blood group identification especially in sudden or unforeseen circumstances like accidents where group awareness can save time and lives.
The Head Master of the school, Mr. V.P. Obed thanked the Prayas team for this initiative and appreciated the selfless efforts of team in serving the community. He also requested Prayas Trust to continue to extend support to the school in future.
